CMTE Discount at Music Therapy Book Club, for OCMT Fans!

Jennifer Sokira, MMT, LCAT, MT-BC is the founder of Music Therapy Book Club, which is a unique CMTE option for music therapists offered by her company, Connecticut Music Therapy Services, LLC, P#0130. Music Therapy Book Club is honored to sponsor the 2014 OCMT!

Music Therapy Book Club strives to provide you with excellent self-study courses based on current and crucial music therapy texts. These are facilitated by the authors of the book being discussed, unless the author is not available in which case we’ll match the book with a highly qualified music therapy clinician, researcher, etc.
We have several courses available at our site www.musictherapybookclub.com with many courses in the works for 2014!

Most of our readers so far have let us know that they prefer a simple format, flexibly timed self-study course, so Music Therapy Book Club doesn’t work exactly like a traditional “book club”.

Once you click “purchase course” on our website, here’s how it works:

1) The Audio: Listen to the MP3 Author discussion with readers from our forum. In your pajamas if you’d like.

2) The Assignments: After you listen to the MP3 recording, complete the assignments that the author created.

3) You return your assignments to Music Therapy Book Club and we send you your CMTE certificate. Voila!

Does this sound like how you like to learn? You can check out our courses here and get updates by subscribing here.

Of course, we also have many MT-BCs interested in actually picking the brains of the MT Book Club Authors, so we are implementing our new Readers’ Forum that allows a few interested individuals to participate in the original, live talk with the author/facilitator. These readers get to participate for FREE, and can earn CMTEs by completing the assignments as well. To get more information about our Readers’ Forum, subscribe to our email list to receive invitations to our readers forums.

Our next course will be released on Thursday, February 6 and is facilitated by AMTA’s Artist Spokesperson Robin Spielberg on her book Naked at the Bench: My Adventures in Pianoland. This is a special opportunity for course participants to give back since all net proceeds from the course will be donated to the American Music Therapy Association.

OCMT participants can enter the coupon code OCMT14 for a special 25% discount off of any one of our courses this month!

We hope you will grab her book and join us! Best wishes to the staff, presenters and attendees of OCMT for a successful conference!!
