[Keynote] Hanne Mette Ochsner Ridder, PhD

Hanne Mette Ridder, PhD, DMTF, EAMI-accredited BMGIM Therapist, professor of music therapy, and coordinator of PhD Specialization in Music Therapy at Aalborg University, Denmark, is an approved clinical supervisor and past president of the European Music Therapy Confederation (2010-2016). Her research is based on her clinical experience in dementia care and focused on music therapy in a psychosocial understanding of dementia and neurocognitive disorders. The interplay between music and dementia makes her explore the concepts of attunement, embodiment, attention, arousal, resonance, and learning. She is PI for studies on Person Attuned Musical Interaction (PAMI) in dementia care in Denmark (www.pami.aau.dk), and most recently has explored how singing or music listening experiences impact consciousness, cognition, creativity, and well-being for people with mild dementia.
