One of the things that I have come to especially appreciate during my involvement with the Online Conference for Music Therapy are the keynote speakers who agree to participate. Over the past 8 years of the conference’s existance well-regarded music therapy pioneers, scholars, and researchers from around the world have agreed to be keynote speakers, including Dr. Mercérdés Pavlicevic in 2016. (See who were our keynote speakers in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018.)
Historically we have had one keynote be from North America and another keynote from outside North America. Typically, that has meant that one of the keynote speakers has been from the United States of America, but this year will be different.
While we will still have a keynote speaker from North America, this year Jennifer Buchanan from Canada will be it. If you are in private practice, considering private practice, or simply want to be part of changing the landscape of healthcare, you will definitely want to hear her talk about “A Healthpreneur’s Guide to Building a Business with a Huge Impact.”
Our keynote from outside North America will be Dr. Katrina McFerran from Australia. If you work with adolescents, then her talk on “Music, Music Therapy and Adolescents” is going to be of interest to you.
Even though February 2019 is still over 7 months away, the 2019 Online Conference for Music Therapy is shaping up to be a good one. Consider being an active part of it by submitting a proposal for our call for presentations. The call remains open until September 1, 2018.
